About Box Office Index

Box Office Index is an independent reference for Indian cinema. It covers every Indian film it can list since 1930, in every language, with credits, and day-by-day box office tables for films in release and past films where figures exist.

Every figure is a compiled estimate and is revised when better numbers appear. Where more than one figure exists for a film and day, the site shows their median. The methodology sets out the rules.

The site gives facts only. It does not rate or review films and gives no verdicts on them.
